Moms Insisting on Licensed Tools

OF course, no one was happier than we here at M.I.L.T. headquarters to learn that the Tool Lobby-sponsored Home Improvement show was finally removed from the airwaves. It was bad enough that Bob Villa keeps cropping up like a bad penny, but The Sinister Tim Allenthe glorification of tool accidents and the use of unlicensed tools in a family setting was too much to bear.

Rather than make an issue out of it, M.I.L.T. decided to say nothing, allowing it to die a natural death. Instead, it turned into a monster.

Evidently, Mr. Allen still believes he is "Tim Taylor" and is promoting his own line of tools. What is worse, included in his macabre merchandise is a line of- you guessed it- tool toys. "These products promote parent/child interaction, which results in real serious fun." says the ad copy, failing to mention that what unlicensed tool use really promotes is injury and death. But that would cut into the sales a bit, wouldn't it?

It goes on to mention that "Tim Allen donates all of his profits from these products for kids' educational and charitable purposes." Note that he doesn't donate any profits to clinics, emergency rooms, or the manufacturers of artificial limbs.

As an example, there's a Tim's Truckload of Tools that sells for $24.95 and is obviously marketed to children as young as six. Six years old! Even the ad copy admits "These tools are not toys." but then goes on to say "What a great gift for anyone."

Is it any wonder we need organizations like M.I.L.T.?
